In response to an alarming increase in the number of infants in ICE custody at the South Texas Family Residential Center, the American Immigration Council, American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. (CLINIC) filed a Civil Rights and Civil Liberties (CRCL) complaint addressing the detention of infants and the lack of specialized medical care available to them. The complaint was submitted to DHS’s Offices of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties and Inspector General on Feb 28.

The letter calls on USCIS to withdraw the proposed changes and maintain the current Fee Waiver form and guidance.
